The Bellevue Society for the Arts’ mission is to promote the arts through appreciation, education, and participation.

The Bellevue Society for the Arts was founded in 1994, after a community survey showed that citizens desired a theatre center. The BSA performed its shows at various locations while searching for the right location for the facility. A few years later, the property housing the former Scagnetti Concrete Mixing plant was donated, plans were drawn, and building began.

The Hirt Theater was dedicated in 2003, and major productions began. The theatre seats roughly 335, with state-of-the-art lighting and sound, and a backstage work area for set and prop construction.
